Eliza Scanlen and Austin Abrams new film, The Starling Girl is heading to the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. The film has been entered into the festival’s U.S. Dramatic Competition category. The Starling Girl follows Seventeen-year-old Jem Starling who struggles with her place within her Christian fundamentalist community, but everything changes when her magnetic youth pastor Owen returns to their church. Eliza Scanlen Lands Recurring Role in Showtime’s The First Lady
Eliza Scanlen has landed a new role. Scanlen is set to have a recurring role in Showtime’s new anthology series, The First Lady. The star is set to play a young Eleanor Roosevelt. The favorite niece of President Theodore Roosevelt, Eleanor lost both of her parents at a very young age. At 15, Eleanor was sent to Allenswood Academy, where she became an independent thinking, progressive and self-confident young woman. She married her fifth cousin Franklin in 1905. She will join Dakota Fanning, Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Gillian Anderson, Kiefer Sutherland, Aaron Eckhart, and O-T Fagbenle. Source: Showtime

The actress is set to join the cast of M. Night Shyamalan’s next untitled movie. Scanlen will be joined in the movie by Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff and Vicky Krieps.
