Kit Harington Replaces Nicholas Hoult as Gilderoy Lockhart in ‘Harry Potter’ Series

HBO has announced a recasting for the upcoming second season of Harry Potter. After announcing Nicholas Hoult would be playing Gilderoy Lockhart in the show’s second season, the studio has announced Hoult will no longer be playing the character.

Now, Kit Harington will be stepping into the role. Hoult had to step away from the project due to scheduling conflicts, so the studio reached out to Harington to see if he was available. Harrington voiced the character in the Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions, and did a fantastic job, so it made sense for him to step into the role.

I’m excited to see his take on the character come to life on screen. I had no idea it was him when I was listening to the audiobooks, so to see him bring that to life on screen should be pretty fun!
