Watch the Trailer for ‘The Sun Never Sets’ starring Dakota Fanning, Jake Johnson, & Cory Michael Smith

The trailer for Dakota Fanning’s new film, The Sun Never Sets, has been released. Written and directed by Joe Swanberg, Fanning is joined in the pic by Jake Johnson, Cory Michael Smith, Debby Ryan, Anna Konkle, Lamorne Morris, and Karley Sciortino.

In the film, “Wendy (Fanning) finds her life upended when her boyfriend Jack (Johnson)—older, divorced, and with children—asks for space to reassess their relationship. During their separation, Wendy reconnects with her ex, Chuck (Smith), sparking an emotionally charged love triangle that forces all three to confront the realities of love, timing, and personal growth.”

The film premiered at SXSW earlier this year. Thankfully, it was picked up for distribution by Mongrel Media and Independent Film Company and it will be released in limited theaters in the United States on August 28, 2026, before a wide release on September 4.
