NBC Takes Audiences 450 Million Years Into the Past in ‘Surviving Earth’

NBC has released the trailer for its new docuseries, Surviving Earth. Set to premiere Thursday, June 11th, “the show will transport viewers back 450 million years by exploring how life on Earth endured, and ultimately flourished, through the planet’s most catastrophic events.”

Surviving Earth is a landmark series showcasing how life not only survived but thrived through Earth’s most catastrophic environmental crises. Using cutting-edge CGI, viewers are transported back to a world of never-before-seen creatures and their remarkable survival stories. From the giant sea scorpions of 450 million years ago to the mighty mammoths and sabertooths of 450,000 years ago, Earth’s epic story is vividly brought to life. Traverse landscapes shaped by meteoric strikes, volcanic eruptions, plunging sea levels and scorching heat storms.”

Ahead of the premiere, NBC will air a special two-hour encore of its Emmy-nominated hit series The Americas: Fun Fact Edition. Premiering on June 4th, starting on June 11th at 8pm ET, Surviving Earth will lead into encore episodes of The Americas: Fun Fact Edition, marking an epic night for viewers.
