Hulu Passes on ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Sequel
Sarah Michelle Gellar took to her Instagram today, March 14, to share some pretty upsetting news. The actress announced Hulu would not be moving forward with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer sequel.
In the video, Gellar stated, “I am really sad to have to share this, but I wanted you all to hear it from me. Unfortunately, Hulu has decided not to move forward with Buffy: New Sunnydale. I want to thank Chloé Zhao, because I never thought I would find myself back in Buffy’s stylish yet affordable boots. And thanks to Chloé, I was reminded how much I love her and how much she means not only to me but to all of you. And this doesn’t change any of that, and I promise if the apocalypse actually comes, you can still beep me.”
Ryan Kiera Armstrong, who would have played the new slayer, took to her Instagram to share the first look at her character after the announcement. Hulu, though, has not given up hone on a new Buffy iteration. No word on what the new iteration could be, but we will keep you posted.
Well, this is disappointing.
