Amazon MGM Studios Acquires ‘Ballerina Overdrive’ starring Lana Condor & Maddie Ziegler

It looks like we have some movement on Lana Condor’s Ballerina Overdrive. Back in 2023, it was announced Yara Shahidi and Isabela Merced would also be part of the cast, but things have changed.

Now, Amazon MGM Studios is in talks to distribute the movie, which will now star Maddie Ziegler, Millicent Simmonds, Iris Apatow, Avantika, Uma Thurman, and and Michael Culkin. Apatow and Simmonds have been signed on since 2023, but the others are new additions.

Vicky Jewson is set to direct the movie which follows a troupe of ballerinas who find themselves fighting for survival as they attempt to escape from a remote inn after their bus breaks down on the way to a dance competition.
