Paramount+’s The Lodge Returns For Another Year at SDCC
Paramount+’s The Lodge returns to San Diego Comic Con this weekend!. The offsite experience for the streaming site features a number of activations centered around some of their hit projects, including DEXTER: RESURRECTION, NCIS:TONY & ZIVA, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, and STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS. Ahead of the activation’s grand opening to the public, BB got the chance to check out the lodge this evening, July 23.
As you enter the lodge this year, attendees are immediately welcomed by the DEXTER: RESURRECTION experience. This experience, though lacking in the interactive nature, showcases some of the fun goodies fan can expect from the upcoming season as attendees walk through a gallery dedicated to some of the most notorious serial killers to walk the Earth.
If that doesn’t seem quite up your alley, head further into the Lodge where attendees can grab a drink at the STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS holodeck. Word of warning, with four overall bars to choose from, each with a different selections of beverages, this one is probably one of the smallest. The drink is cool, but may not be worth the wait.
Speaking of bars, LANDMAN also has a bar dedicated to them, and unlike STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS, it is much bigger and provides a fun little giveaway.
The two experiences that will take up most of attendees time in the Lodge is the NCIS:TONY & ZIVA and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE experiences. Both of these are interactive photo opportunities, and though both are a lot of fun, the photo opportunities only take one attendee at a time. This leads to an extremely long wait at both experiences. With only 40 minute slots granted to each attendees, if you want to get a feel for the whole Lodge, I would check how short the lines are before committing to either.
Once again, their is food provided throughout the venue with multiple waiters walking around with sliders and fries. Attendees can also grab a box of popcorn over at the Summer of Cinema as well, and to wash it all down? Attendees once again get two drink tickets. The food selection, though small, was way better this year than last year. The pizza went to fast, and they didn’t have enough. Here’s hoping Paramount+ learned from last year and have enough for all their attendees.
The activation is first come, first serve and it will be open Thursday, July 24 – Sunday, July 27 from 9 AM – 7 PM PM daily at Happy Days Bar in the Gaslamp district. If you don’t mind a line, this one is definitely an activation you will want to check out.
