Adult Swim’s Pirate Purrty On The Green Comes to SDCC

BeautifulBallad got the chance to check out Adult Swim’s Pirate Purrrty on the Green this evening, July 23, in San Diego, CA. The event is being held as an offsite activation during San Diego Comic-Con 2025 starting tomorrow, July 24.

Located outside of the San Diego Convention Center, and in front of the Hilton Bayfront, the activation featured a variety of games, activities, and photo ops across its expansive green.

One of our favorite photos ops from last year makes a triumph return this year, the chance to ride one of the dinosaur’s from Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal. You can also nab a quick photo at the Smiling Friends Break Room with the characters from the series.

This year also has a variety of different immersive experiences such as Rick and Morty’s Buttworld Bounce House and Common Side Effects Mushroom Hunt, which has attendees scrounging through a foam pit to find an exclusive prize.

Overall, it’s a bit disappointing that much of the offsite felt like a rinse and repeat of last year’s. Though there were some new additions, I couldn’t help but say to myself, “They had this last year”. That negative aside, the best part about this offsite is the space. There is so much for attendees to do and see, and all of it is nicely spread out amongst the space. Though be warned, if you head in during the middle of one of the hotter days, there is little to no shade so have water, a hat, or a fan ready. You are going to need it.
