Netflix Developing a Live-Action ‘Captain Planet’

Netflix is developing a live-action Captain Planet. The streaming platform has teamed with Leonardo DiCaprio and Greg Berlanti to create the new series.

Based on the highly popular 1990s’ cartoon, Captain Planet and the Planeteers, the cartoon followed a group of kids (Planeteers), who have the power to summon the protector of Earth, Captain Planet. The series focused not only on environmental issues, but also adolescence issues.

Glen Powell and Paramount Pictures were at one time working on a live-action movie, but I guess that got shelved. We will see if this one actually sees the light of day, but I hope it does!
