EXCLUSIVE: Burke Swanson Talks the Connection Between ‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow’ & The Show’s Final Season

Tonight, April 22, Stranger Things: The First Shadow premieres on Broadway! To celebrate opening night, we sat down with one of the stars of the new play, Burke Swanson.

Burke plays a beloved character from the Netflix series we all know and love, James Hopper Jr. However, Burke’s character isn’t the same Jim Hopper we meet in the show. In the play, he plays a younger version of the character that gives fans a little more insight of the beloved character.

During our chat, Burke spoke about making his Broadway debut in this new project. He also spoke about the bringing his own life and expression into the role of James Hopper Jr., making sure that fans loyal to series will love the play just as much, working with the Matt and Ross Duffer throughout production so that the play coincided with season five of the series, and so much more.
