Lucasfilms Announces New ‘Star Wars’ Movie, ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’

Lucasfilms has announced its next Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Starfighter. Starring Ryan Gosling and directed by Shawn Levy, production is set to start this Fall.

The movie is a standalone adventure taking place approximately five years after the events of 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker. The movie will explore a part of Star Wars lore that has yet to be explored on screen.

It will open in theaters on May 28, 2027! I’m guessing Gosling will star as a starfighter pilot in the new movie potentially fighting the First Order?
