The Hogwarts Staff Is Set For New Harry Potter Series Coming To MAX

HBO has confirmed some of the Hogwarts staff coming to the new Harry Potter series. Casting announcements have been sporadic these past few months, but with filming set to begin this Summer, HBO is finally confirming what we already believe to be true.
Previously announced, John Lithgow will be playing the Head of Hogwarts, Professor Albus Dumbledore; while Janet McTeer will play Transfiguration professor and Head of Gryffindor House, Professor Minerva McGonagall. Paapa Essiedu will be playing the Potions professor and Head of Slytherin House, Professor Severus Snape; while Nick Frost will play the Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts, Rubeus Hagrid.
The network also announced that Luke Thallon would be taking on the role of Quirinus Quirrell, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and that Paul Whitehouse would play Argus Filch, the Hogwarts Caretaker.
According to HBO, “the series will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter book series by author and executive producer J.K. Rowling and will feature an exciting and talented cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail and much-loved characters Harry Potter fans have adored for over 25 years. Exploring every corner of the wizarding world, each season will bring Harry Potter and its incredible adventures to new and existing audiences and will stream exclusively on Max.”
