Jenna Ortega and Charles Melton Cover the 30th Annual Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue

Jenna Ortega and Charles Melton cover 30th annual Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue. The duo is joined on the cover by Bradley Cooper, Natalie Portman, Pedro Pascal, Colman Domingo, Jodie Comer, Lily Gladstone, Greta Lee, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Barry Keoghan.

In their interviews, Ortega talks her role in Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, how Season 2 of Wednesday feels more like a movie, her dry humor and so much more. For Melton, he talked directors he wants to work with, May December, method acting and so much more. Highlights can be found below.

Ortega on Season 2 of Wednesday feeling like a movie: “I mean, in the first season we had episodes that really stood out visually, like the dance episode was a really big one for people, and that setting was very particular and it felt like Prom Night, a little bit, or Carrie. Every episode [of season two] that I’ve read so far is like that. It just stands out on its own as a very memorable scene or bit or setting, which I think is what I’m most excited for, because to pull that off for eight episodes is, I think, really incredible and really lucky.”

Melton on method acting: “I’m going to be very delicate with what I’m saying. I don’t even know what Method acting is. Anyone who is an artist, who is an actor, has their own personal method. Correct? I believe I have a lot of technical practices that allow me to separate Charles from the character, and to be able to be kind and generous, and to keep those two things separate and not to inflict on anyone else’s process or not to take up space. In between takes with Julianne and Natalie, we had so much fun. You can still have fun, but if you need to step away and listen to Nirvana’s “Something in the Way” 30 times in a row, then you go do that.”
