EXCLUSIVE: Winter Lantern Festival Brings Dazzling Display To DMV

BeautifulBallad had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Winter Lantern Festival last night, November 28. Located at Lerner Town Square at Tysons II in McLean, Virgina, this dazzling night walk features 1,000 handcrafted lantern that represent the culture and craftsmanship of traditional Chinese lantern festivals.

During our visit, we got the chance to enjoy the beautiful lanterns and appreciate the fine craftsmanship that went into each individual piece. Each display, whether it was an animal kingdom or a swarm of lantern snails, told a story and offered up a plethora of photo opportunities.

Other than the lanterns, there are a few other interactive displays throughout the festival, but the ones featured are really geared more towards children. Attendees will also enjoy a few small craft vendors on-site, food trucks, and a Chinese Opera performance as well.

The nice thing about this experience is that it is open well past the holidays. So if you are already booked solid through the holidays, the experience is open until February 18th, 2024. Which leaves plenty of time to check out this dazzling display.
