A Live-Action The Aristocats in the Works at Disney

A live-action The Aristocats movie is in the works. Based on the 1970 animated movie, Deadline is reporting, “that an adaptation of The Aristocats is in early development with the studio’s live-action team. Will Gluck and Keith Bunin will pen the script, with Gluck producing through his Olive Bridge Entertainment banner.”

In the movie, “When a retired opera singer leaves her inheritance to her cat, Duchess (Eva Gabor), and three kittens, the woman’s butler drugs the cats and abandons them in the countryside in order to inherit the fortune himself. Lost in unfamiliar territory, Duchess and the kittens meet Thomas O’Malley (Phil Harris), an alley cat willing to help them return to their home in Paris. They meet several kooky characters along the way, including two English geese and an alley cat jazz band.”

I’m guessing the cats will be CGI like the characters were in Lady and the Tramp, but do we really need another live-action Disney movie. What do you guys think?
