Yara Shahidi Premieres X At TIFF
Yara Shahidi premiered her new short film X at the Toronto International Film Festival last night, September 8. The young actress stepped behind the camera to direct this new short film, which was chosen as part of TIFF’s TNT and Refinery29 collaborative series Shatterbox.
In Yara’s new film, “a young black kid wanders through Los Angeles while confronting the difficult realities of adolescence, while being black in America.” Fans will hopefully learn a release date for the short film over the next few days.
