ABC Planning black-ish Spin-Off Focusing on Yara Shahidi’s Zoey?!
Yara Shahidi’s Zoey may be getting her own story told. ABC is currently eyeing a black-ish spin-off that would focus on the oldest Johnson child, Zoey.
The show would be a comedy like black-ish and it would focus on Zoey’s time in college. ABC plans to test the idea on black-ish this coming Spring as a backdoor pilot episode. If the episode is received well then ABC and black-ish creator/executive producer Kenya Barris will push ahead on the project.
I am here for giving Yara her own show. She is already making a name for herself outside the show, so it only makes sense that ABC would want to try having her lead one of their shows. However, if the show does get picked up it means she will be on black-ish less and I don’t like that idea at all.
