New Details Emerge on Power Rangers Movie

New details have emerged on the Power Rangers Movie. The Wrap is reporting some new *Spoilery* details regarding certain characters and the movie’s story line.

First detail to be revealed is in regards to Rita Repulsa, played by Elizabeth Banks and Zordon, voiced by Bryan Cranston. According to The Wrap, Rita”…is 65 million years old and is a former Green Ranger gone rogue.”, while Zordon “…was the original Red Ranger millions of years ago, long before being transformed into a state of pure energy.”

The second detail released is in regards to the infamous putty patrol will appear. They will apparently appear in a scene “…where Rita Repulsa is trying to steal gold bullion from the Central Bank of Russia.” They will also apparently appear later on the in movie to challenge the Rangers.

The third detail pertains to everyone’s favorite monster/sidekick, Goldar. Goldar will be in the movie, however “Goldar’s molecular essence is scattered around the globe after he was vaporized into a cloud of microscopic gold particles in the opening action sequence on Ancient Earth. Rita Repulsa collects gold to resurrect Goldar… and the Rangers have just 71 hours to stop her.”

Now for the last detail. It has been revealed that Goldar was “created with a single purpose — to penetrate the force field and steal the [Zeo] crystal. The Zeo Crystal is an artifact that channels the Morphing Grid — a dimension that weaves through all things and is what gives the ‘Power Rangers’ their power. The crystal was hidden on Earth to keep it out of the hands of those who would use it as a weapon.”

Rita’s goal, and her reason for being on Earth, is to collect the crystal and deliver it to Lord Zedd, who burned his face while trying to steal the crystal many years ago.

So, the new movie has found a way to include the Zeo Crystal, the Green Power Coin and set itself up for a possible sequel if all these details are true. My guess is Rita will not get the crystal in this movie, so either she creates an evil Green Ranger to try and take it in the next movie or Zedd will appear to try and take it.

Though I probably shouldn’t be jumping the gun since we haven’t even seen the first one yet. Oh well, what do you guys think?

The Power Rangers Movie will hit theaters in March!
