Could the Music Meister be the Key to The Flash/Supergirl’s Musical Episode?!

muss

Yesterday, August 11, Greg Berlanti announced that The Flash and Supergirl would be holding a two-episode musical crossover during the back half of their 2016-2017 season. The crossover is still some ways out and probably in the beginning, and we mean the beginning, stages of preparation, but we are already theorizing how the writers of both shows will be able to pull it off.

We know that the characters will be breaking out into song, some done internally, but what causes them to do this is what really intrigued us. How are they going to get this cast to randomly break out into song without it feeling random? Well, we have an idea and that idea is the Music Meister.

The Music Meister is not in any of the actual DC Comics, but instead was introduced in the DC animated universe. First appearing in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, “Mayhem of the Music Meister!”, the Music Meister uses his powers to control people through song. Those under his control used singing and dancing to defeat those in Music Meister’s way. He is defeated in the episode by Black Canary, who is convinced by Batman to sing as high as she can ultimately allowing her to use her Canary Cry to break Music Meister’s control.

If the writer used the Music Meister than only some of the characters, not all, would have to break out into song and dance. This would allow the actors who don’t want to sing during the episodes, aka Danielle Panabaker, the chance to not sing.

Whatever they do come up with I am pretty excited. There are plenty of people in both cast that are musically inclined, such as Jesse L. Martin, Jeremy Jordan, Melissa Benoist, and Grant Gustin. If they can make this work I think we will start to see more shows attempting musical episodes in the future.

Are you guys excited for the musical episode?
