Melissa Benoist Lands Role in Patriot’s Day

Melissa Benoist has landed a new role. The Supergirl star has joined the cast of CBS and Lionsgate’s movie, Patriot’s Day.

Based on the events surrounding the Boston Marathon bombings, Melissa is set to play Katherine Russell, the wife of bomber, Tamerlan Tsaraev. Production is currently under way in Boston.

The movie also stars Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman, J.K. Simmons, Jimmy O. Yang, Vince Curatola, Michael Beach and James Colby. It will be released on December 21.
