We Could Be Immortals

Walt Disney Studios has released their newest animated film Big Hero 6. The movie follows Hiro Hamada, a young kid with a tragic past, who gets thrown into a mystery that causes him and his friends to become the “Big Hero 6”.

Big Hero 6 plays out like any other hero movie. Tragedy leads the protagonist to take up the hero mantle in order to avenge his loved ones. However, the real focus is on the relationship between human health companion, Baymax and Hiro. This was a breath of fresh air in what could have been a stereotypical hero film.

Boys of all ages will immensely enjoy the film along families with young children The humor is on point, but the story lacks in plot. There were plot points that could have been explored but again, this is a film for young ones who likely would have become bored.

The animation was one of the best parts of the film. The colors were bright and vibrant, which allowed for the viewer to stay completely engaged. However, the animation does not benefit from the 3D aspect so paying the extra amount for that is not entirely worth it.

For those looking for a movie that will make you laugh or are looking for something to do with the kids this weekend, Big Hero 6 is the film for you.
