Cory Monteith, star of the hit FOX show Glee, has checked himself in to rehab. According to People magazine, he “voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction”.

Cory’s rep also stated, “He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.” Cory has had issues with substance abuse in the past and previously entered rehab when he was 19.

Cory’s girlfriend, and co-star, Lea Michele, also expressed her support for Cory. She told People, “I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision”.

Good for Cory for taking the necessary steps to face his addiction. It is certainly not an easy thing to do,
