Can’t We Be Friends

Walt Disney Studios began production on their new film, Saving Mr. Banks, today, September 19 in Los Angeles. The film will star Tom Hanks in the role of Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as novelist P.L. Travers.

The film will tell “…the account of Walt Disney’s twenty-year pursuit of the film rights to P.L. Travers’ popular novel, Mary Poppins, and the testy partnership the upbeat filmmaker develops with the uptight author during the project’s pre-production in 1961.”

The film is set to wrap production around Thanksgiving time and it will be released to theaters in 2013.
