REVIEW: P!NK: All I Know So Far is a Winning Look at Being a Popstar and a Mom

Twenty one years ago, a young singer by the name of Alecia Moore, aka “P!NK”, released her debut single “There You Go”. The song would go on to reach #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and would be the first of many Top Ten Hits released by the singer. The singer would then go on to release eight studio albums and headline countless tours including her “Beautiful Trauma World Tour”, which would take her all over the world. It is on this tour where we find the singer in her new Amazon Studios documentary, P!NK: All I Know So Far.

The documentary focuses on P!NK as she begins the European leg of her “Beautiful Trauma World Tour” in 2019. The documentary sheds light on the six shows leading up to her two night show at Wembley Stadium in England. Featuring a mix of behind the scenes footage and concert footage, we watch as P!NK balances being a singer on tour, a boss, and a mother all at the same time. Heavily featured in the documentary are P!NK’s two adorable children, Willow Sage and Jameson Moon, as well as her husband, Carey Hart.

All I Know So Far opens the world up to P!NK’s life as she tries to balance bringing a tour to life and trying to raise her children while on tour. Instead of focusing on the creation of the tour or the actual tour itself, All I Know So Far focuses on attempting to find that balance between work and family. It focuses on the relationships P!NK has with her children as their mom, her relationship with her husband, and her relationship as a boss to her tour family. It is an honest look at the hardship many women face as they try and balance having a job and raising a family.

At first I was a little skeptical about the direction the film was going. I didn’t initially like they idea that the documentary was not focusing on the music and the actual tour. But the more I watched it, the less I cared about the show and more I cared about her interactions with those around her. From her interactions with her children to her interactions with her teammates, you could tell everyone respected her, even when things felt like they were getting a little out of hand.

All I Know So Far is unlike any musician documentary. It is a great look inside P!NK’s life without feeling too invasive or too in your face. It allows her fans an inside look at how she prepared for the European leg of the tour while also still being a mom/wife to her family. From the honest conversations she had to have with her team to prepare for live shows to trying to maintain the job of Mom had me respecting her even more than I already did.. I highly recommend checking out this documentary, whether you are a fan of P!NK or not.
