BB Exclusive: Niki Koss Teases What’s To Come For Alexis On Famous In Love

Things aren’t looking too good for Alexis in the brand new episode of Famous In Love, which will air tonight, April 18. Actress, Niki Koss, was wonderful enough to chat with BeautifulBallad about what is sure to be a crazy episode and what else is to come for the reality star in Season 2 .

On how Season 2 has differed from Season one: “I think going into to season two we were all a lot more comfortable and confident. There wasn’t that same pressure. It’s just a very unique pressure that comes with making the first season of a show. That was lifted a little bit and we were all able to really get into our characters more. That goes with every department, like the writers were more familiar with us and our characters and more confident in taking risks with that. The same with the costume department. I think everyone was just brought up a level because of their confidence and comfortableness with it being season two.”

On what fans can expect from Alexis during tonight’s episode: “She’s going to have to deal with her consequences and she’s going to have to woman up and face what she’s done. I don’t think we’ve ever seen Alexis be put in that position before and I think she grows a lot from it. It’s going to be fun to watch how she deals with that. Especially because, at first, I don’t think she knows how to go about winning people back in an authentic way. It’s kind of comical watching her try her different strategies.”

On her reaction to reading the scripts for season two: “I never expected her story line to be what it is. I was very surprised when we were told. I remember I was sitting with Carter and Perry and Marlene was telling us everyone’s story line for season two, and she told us about Alex-alicious, and we’re all just cracking up. I was not expecting that and I’m really excited about her storyline because it gets crazier and crazier and crazier until you’re like, ‘Holy crap, how did we end up here?’ But I loved every minute of it. And the reality show aspect of it was a big challenge for me because I don’t watch a lot of reality TV and she kind of plays a different character on her reality show, if you haven’t noticed. So that was challenging, but it was a good challenge. It was a very fun challenge.”

On the difficulties of playing a character with her own reality show: “It was a very strange transition, especially because a lot of the time I was directed to play to the camera, which is so counter intuitive for actors. I’ve never done anything like that before where I’m supposed to, except obviously for press. Acting-wise I’ve never played into a camera before. That’s the last thing you want to look at. It got a little confusing sometimes and I have to admit I accidentally looked into the camera when I wasn’t supposed to way more this season than I ever have.”

On her reaction to finding out that Alexis was the one to share Jordan & Nina’s secret: “My first reaction was, ‘Of course Alexis would be the one to reveal that news! Who Else?’ I was really excited about it, but more than that, I was very excited to find out where that was going to take her. I knew it would come with all these serious consequences and in her relationships. I knew that that would force her to either take on a new role of responsibility or not. So I was excited to see which road she would go down.”

On Nina and Alexis’ relationship after the reveal: “It’s interesting because if you think about it now Nina and Alexis are both about to be shunned by everyone they love. They’re about to be in these really lonely, dark places that may or may not bring them together in some way.”

On Tangey breaking off her friendship with Alexis: “It was very heartbreaking. I mean the worst thing to hear from your best friend! I think in that moment it was so shocking to her core because I don’t think Alexis ever expected anything to break up their friendship. You never expect to hear words like that out of your best friend, or in this case, out of her texts. I think it was just very shocking and unbelievable to her.”

On whether or not Alexis will ever take back her life from Ida: “As you’ve seen last season with Tangey, Ida is a lioness that is very, very hard to get in the ring and fight with. I think Alexis is a lot tougher than you may believe she is and, she’s a very strong person. She will fight to the death to make sure that her life doesn’t end and her most important relationships in her life don’t end.”

On whether or not there are any positive things ahead for Alexis this Season: “Good ratings for her reality show. [Laughs] Alexis develops a new relationship or potentially an old relationship that becomes somewhat of an ally for her. I think it will be exciting for people to see.”

On her favorite episode of Season two: “My favorite episode is episode four, which is tonight. I’m most excited for people to see that because that’s the episode right after the bomb has dropped and it’s really fun to see where everyone lands afterwards. Also, everyone goes back to set after that, too, which is drama central, so it’s great.”

On how much she enjoyed playing Alexis during this darker time in her life: I was really surprised to book this show because I had never done anything teen soapy so it was cool. I felt like I was going back to my roots a little bit and it was really fun to be able to bring that aspect to my character. So I really enjoyed it.”

On a character she wishes she had more scenes with: “I still have not had any scenes with Cassie, [played by Georgie Flores]. We both are so upset about it. We keep telling them to write stuff for us and we really want to work together. Also I think it’d be such a hilarious dynamic having the two of them in a room together. However, I know season three there will be plenty of opportunities for all the actresses on the show to come together.”

On one word she would use to describe this Season: “One word. That is so hard. One word. I’m going to go with the word I always choose for this show because I just feel like it’s so appropriate. Juicy. Or you know what, how about unexpected?”

On why she choose her word: “Well, as far as Alexis goes, her story line is just, it’s unpredictable because she’s the type of character that you never know what she’s going to do next.”
