Avan Jogia Lands Mysterious Role In New Reboot, Shaft
Avan Jogia has landed his next role. The young actor is set to star in the new Netflix and New Line Cinema film, Shaft, which is based on the cult classic.
According to Deadline, “Tim Story will direct a script from Kenya Barris and Alex Barnow which will follow a nerdy FBI agent launches his own investigation after his friend dies under suspicious circumstances. Needing help with the case, he reluctantly enlists the help from his estranged father — the legendary, stuck-in-the-80s-but-still-cool-as-hell titular John Shaft.”
Avan will be joined by Samuel L. Jackson, Jessie T. Usher, Regina Hall, Alexandra Shipp and Richard Roundtree in this new reboot. Production has already begun on the film and Netflix/New Line Cinema hope to have the final product out later this year.
