Yara Shahidi attended the Essence Festival in New Orleans today, June 30. The young star met fans at the State Farm the Color Full Lives booth earlier this afternoon.

This coming September, Yara is set to begin filming her new series, college-ish. The new series is a spin-off of ABC’s hit comedy, black-ish. in the series, fans will get to follow Zoe (Shahidi) as she navigates through her first year of college.

The series will premiere on Freeform in the early part of 2018.
