Shooting for 9 months of the year, Candice Patton (@candicekp) lives and breathes “The Flash,” and her character, Iris West. Luckily, the star took some time out of her busy schedule to talk to VULKAN about Iris’ defining moment, audition awkwardness, the first thing she does when filming wraps, and everything in between! Candice Patton is on the cover of Vulkan magazine. The Flash star is on the cover of the online magazine’s newest issue.
In the issue, she talks her show The Flash, playing Iris West, social media, what the most enjoyable part about playing Iris is and so much more. Highlights can be found below.
On the most enjoyable part about playing Iris: “For me, it’s how much young girls connect to Iris and the show in general. Sometimes, we work so much its easy to get caught up in the day to day and forget the reach the show has. It’s amazing how much film, television, and characters themselves can resonate so deeply with people. That’s a beautiful and powerful thing.”
On the strangest thing a fan has asked her: “Honestly, my fans are pretty great! I’m sure I’ve received some weird tweets and fan mail, but I mostly laugh it off and forget it. Most of what I get these days is people coming up to me to ask me to plead with the producers to not kill my character off. It’s mostly love and I’m really grateful for that.”
