10 years ago yesterday, October 24, Taylor Swift released her debut album, Taylor Swift. The country album topped Billboard’s country chart and reached #5 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was filled with songs and lyrics that spoke to people all over the world and in honor of its anniversary we have selected our 5 favorite songs from the album.

1.) “Our Song”- The third single to be released off the album, “Our Song” was pure fun, a joyous way to look at love. It had every girl and some guys hoping to find that one person they could share a song with.

2.) “Tim McGraw”- Her first single ever to be released, with lyrics reminding us of our first loves and a shout out to country star of the same name, it had everything needed to introduce Taylor to the country world.

3.) “Cold as You”- “And you come away with a great little story, of a mess of a dreamer with the nerve to adore you”, is there a better line in the album? This song solidified Taylor’s talents as a song writer speaking the words of the heart.

4.) “I’m Only Me When I’m With You”- Only released with the deluxe version, this song has always reminded us of our best friends. The upbeat music just makes you want to get up and dance.

5.) “Should’ve Said No”- Arguably the best song off the record, this song has yet to get old. It’s an energetic ode to cheating exes everywhere.
