Miley Cyrus made a surprise appearance on American Idol this evening, April 27, in a pre-taped segment. Miley stopped by the Idol studio last week to meet contestant, Lauren Alaina.

Miley dropped on Lauren’s rehearsal with producer, Jimmy Iovine, and shared some advice with her fellow Southerner. Miley told Lauren to “just do it for yourself” because people are always going talk about you and say mean comments.

Jimmy added in that he had received some negative feedback from Miley’s fans which prompted her to tell Jimmy he deserved it. Miley also said she loves her fans.

This is so awesome. Lauren is definitely one of my faves on this season!
