For Which We Bring

Selena Gomez recently spoke to the Moms & The City about teaming up with UNICEF to help draw attention to this serious issue of unhealthy water. Selena and many other celebs will be bottling their OWN tap water from their homes for a sweepstakes benefiting the project.

On what is the most important this to teach children about water: “Water is extremely fragile.  Although we may have a lot of it, there are a lot of kids all over the world who don’t get to have clean water.  That is something that we shouldn’t take for granted.”

On how she would explani the water crisis in other countries to a 5-year old: “We are very lucky, we have clean water that comes out of our pipes clean, so we can drink it and take baths with it.  In some places, they aren’t as lucky, their water is filled with dirt and bad things, or there just isn’t enough of it for kids to drink.  It would be like taking a bath in muddy water, you wouldn’t get very clean would you?”

On what she does to help the cause on a daily basis:” It all starts with you!  Everything from drinking tap water to turning your faucet off… or even taking a shorter shower.  These are all little things that you and your friends can do to make a difference.”
